The Waldviertel. Place of myths, history and stories.

The Waldviertel is the north-western part of the Austrian province of Lower Austria. In the south, the Danube forms the border to the Lower Austrian Most - viertel. Bordering clockwise from southwest to east are the Upper Austrian Mühl - viertel, the Czech South Bohemia and the Lower Austrian Weinviertel with the striking Manhartsberg (537 m). Around 1400 ponds, whimsical rock formations, pristine natural forests and moors characterise the landscape of the Waldviertel. Here you can recharge your batteries on a hike in unspoilt nature or by visiting calming power spots. There are a multitude of fort - resses, monasteries and castles to discover. The event takes place in Horn and offers the opportunity to explore the Horn Basin and its surroundings.
