Raffle at the event

As people have already been asking how the raffle will work at the event, here is some information.

Hard-working volunteers have turned 1,500 Petlings with logbooks into raffle tickets. These will be sold by mobile teams at the information desk and the merchandise shop on Friday during the welcome event and on Saturday during the main event.

There are 180 fantastic prizes to be won, such as premium memberships, tickets to Schönbrunn, vouchers for escape rooms, and much more.

You can buy 1 ticket for €1.50, 5 tickets for €6 and 10 tickets for €10.

LAB GeoArt – Riesenrad

LAB GeoArt – Ferris wheel

We’ve been asked time and again what’s happening with the Ferris wheel LABs, and now the wait is finally over.

On 18 September 2026 at 3.00 pm, the Adventure Lab caches – created by numerous supporters of ‘Hornbert goes Vienna’ and shaped like a Ferris wheel – will be released. To ensure this beautiful piece of GeoArt is clearly visible, we have placed the headers south-east of Vienna, near Himberg.

The 51 LABs show you interesting places in Vienna, and each one can be completed on foot. Four LABs, which are very close to the event venue, will not be released until 26 September as part of the ‘Megas’, as they are needed to solve the bonus cache GCBJK59, which will also be released on that day. This mystery will include a file that guides you to all 51 adventures.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in this labour-intensive project for their support and patience, even when we were a bit fussy. Special mention must go to Ewald9798, who created the header coordinates for the GeoArt.

Es gibt weitere Neuigkeiten von Hornbert.

We are expanding our program for young cachers at the Mega event in Vienna.
Von 10:00 – 18:00 Uhr wird es auch eine Malecke geben. Neben Ausmalbildern gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, selbst ein Bild zu malen. Wenn dieses Bild bei der Information abgegeben wird, gibt es ein kleines Dankeschön.

Das weitere Kinderprogramm sieht folgendermaßen aus:
Um 11:00 und um 14:00 Uhr findet ein Kinder-Bingo statt.
Um 15:45 Uhr wird von TeddyWB ein Kinderbuch vorgestellt. Mitmachen bei der Vorstellung ist ausdrücklich erwünscht.

Das Mega-Event rückt mit Riesenschritten näher! Damit wir alle Bestellungen rechtzeitig zum Event verarbeiten können, beachtet bitte folgende Daten für den Annahmeschluss:

T-Shirts:

Event- und Supporter-Shirts können noch bis zum 23.08.2026 bestellt werden, damit sie noch zeitgerecht gedruckt werden können. Event-Shirts wird es nur mehr geringe Mengen vor Ort geben, sichert euch daher durch eine Vorbestellung ein Exemplar in der passenden Größe.

Hier habt ihr noch Zeit bis zum 30.08.2026 eure Bestellung zu platzieren. Bitte bedenkt den Überweisungsweg und schickt die Zahlung rechtzeitig auf die Reise.
Auch hier gilt, was vorbestellt ist, ist euch sicher. Die Standard Event-Coin wird noch in größerer Menge am Shop beim Event vorhanden sein, alle anderen Artikeln nach Verfügbarkeit.

Update Bewegungs-Challenge

Update on the Fitness Challenge

We have some good news about our participation in the fitness challenge!

After some initial difficulties, we’ve now got off to a very successful start.

In the club rankings, we’ve come in at a fantastic 19th place out of 232 registered clubs.

14 participants registered with GeoW4 have currently clocked up just under 12,000 minutes of activity. A fantastic achievement.

We’d love to encourage even more geocachers and friends to get involved. Join in and sign up:

  • Register with your name and an email address
  • During the registration process, please select your home municipality. (If you do not live in Lower Austria, please select the club’s municipality, ‘Horn’.)
  • Join the GeoW4 association via the invitation link
