On 07.08.2025, the GeoW4 association organised a workshop for 8 - 12 year old kids on the topic of "geocaching" as part of the holiday campaign in Horn. 4 children were infected by cacher fever and eagerly took part.
The event started at 14:00 at the VHS Horn with an introduction to geocaching. Once registration in the free app was complete, it was time to learn the basics. Shortly afterwards, the kids were already full of beans and the group was on its way to the first cache. After a short search, the first find was successfully logged.
The workshop was successfully concluded with a hike through the Taffa Valley and a visit to several cans.
The Blockparty is just around the corner and we have now added further information on the programme and catering to the relevant section of our homepage. There is also an overview map to help you find your way around the event location.
As part of the block party, an earth cache will be published at the graphite mining tunnel in Wagram am Wagram. The gallery is not normally accessible, but on the day of the block party there will be an opportunity for those interested to explore it with the Cellar lane guide Walter Jöchel .
However, due to the size of the tunnel, the group size is limited to a maximum of 10 people. If there is more interest, it is also possible to offer a second date.
The tour is free of charge for GeoW4 association members, for other visitors there is a Contribution towards expenses of € 3(to be paid on site).
The subsequent welcome event at Fels am Wagram railway station can be reached from the tunnel in just a few minutes by car.
